Cross Country / All Mountain - Standard Week with Rivierabike

Final climb up to Cima Marta 2135m asl.

A typical week will consist of a mix of riding from an epic XC day out in the saddle to a van assisted downhill day and everything in between. The itinerary below is an example of our rides however it can be modified to suit the requirements of the group whether that be more downhill singletrack with uplifts or more traditional XC with climbing.

CLICK HERE for further details of prices and availability.

A Typical Itinerary

Day 1: An intro to our trails normally starting and finishing in Molini. We will practice some switchbacks on “beginner bends” then a gentle xc jaunt up to Triora and Chetta valley that gives you an intro to the singletrack. After lunch we then jump in the bus and do a few descents from the crest of the mountain "Carmo Langan" at 1200m that finish in Molini for a few beers.

Day 2: We will take the bus to to Colle Melosa at 1500m. From here we climb along the dirt road to an old millitary barracks at the foot of Cime Marta, here you can explore the old WWII battlement. The final climb will take us to Cime Marta at 2135m. From here a singletrack descent of 12km over 1700m altitude to Corte.. then another small climb and the final singletrack will take us back to Molini.

Or: Maybe you prefer to ride the varied singletrack on offer using the bus shuttles, like our Freeride/DH days you can do as much as 5-6000m of vertical decent in a day!!!

Day 3: Todays ride will have more of an alpine feel in the upper Agentina Valley. We will take the van to the end of asphalt road at 1200m and climb up to Passo della Guardia. We ride some sweet flowing alpine singletrack soon arriving in  a small village of Realdo where we will have lunch at a fantastic little mountain restaurant. The van will then take us up 900m alt to the French border and then a sweet 10km singletrack section will follow. Finally a giro d'Italia section on the road and the van will take us up for the final descent to Molini.

Day 4: Today is rest day, some relaxation on the beaches or bars can be had. Or perhaps you want to try out some other sporting activity like canyoning, or visit San Remo ….whatever you want.

A day can also be organised in Finale Ligure, click here for information.

Day 5: Today we ride an epic tour of about 60-70km this could either be the Alp to Sea (see below) a 65km ride with over 3000m of descending to sea level!. Or maybe climbing up to the highest peak Mt Saccharello at 2200m (with bus assist) and descending 20km all the way to molini at 400m. Whatever we decide to do it will be an unforgeatable day.

Day 6: Today is Downhill day and the van will take you up and up again until your brain's faded on Agrifolgia, Terra Rossa, Kop Killer, Il Padre, The Belenda's and Numero Uno to name but a few.

You will descend approximately 5-6000 metres altitude in a day!

Typical Epic Rides

Alp2Sea - Alta Via, Mt Grai to Ventigmiglia

Distance: 65km   Altitude: Ascent 1400m + (1100m by bus) Descent: 3000m

Riding along Napoleon's millitary road to Mt Grai 2000m asl.

This ride will take you from what's known as the little dolomites of Mt Grai and Torragio along the ridge known as the "Alta via" all the way down (with some undulations) to the sea at  Ventigmilia.

We take the bus up 1500m to Colla Mellosa, grab a quick espresso at the mountain restaurant before climbing 500m up to Mt Grai. From here we traverse a narrow singletrack carved into the towering cliffs by Soldiers from the the first world war. After a spell of vertigo we arrive at the pass of Torragio at 1900. From here its a 10km 800m descent on singletrack through alpine pastures, crags and rocky cliffs to Gouta.

After a quick lunch we continue along the ridge on Napoleons old millitary road, this is an undulating section where we will eventually arrive at the next section of singletrack at 1400m.

From here the terrain changes from craggy limestone cliffs and alpine meadows to mediteranean with its dry and dusty trails, sandstone and low level bushes.

We take the narrow ribbon of singletrack on the ridge trying to atch glimpses of the sea in the distance and the snow capped Alpe Maritime to the East whilst simultaneously concentrating on the bike... This section lasts for 2 hours...Yes 2 hours of descending on sweet dusty singletrack before we reach the outer hinterland of Ventigmiglia.

We then traverse a little on double track before we hit the final section of singletrack dropping us off right onto the beach for refreshing dip, ice cream and beers before the Van takes us back to Molini.

Final descent to the sea

Giro di Mt Faudo    Distance: 51km Altitude: 1500m (600 with bus uplift)

Starting from the coast this ride takes us along the coastal trails at an approx alt of 500m. Here are rocky dusty trails with open vistas towards the sea.

A spot of lunch in Civezza and then it's a climb up towards Mt Faudo at 1150m. Here you will enjoy a stunning 360 degree view and before hitting the fast 14km descent all the way to Riva Ligure on the sea....again a much deserved beer or gelato is on offer.
