Climate

Liguria and the Riviera enjoy on average 330 dry days a year, with temperatures peaking in the early 30’s in July and August around the coast. However in the mountains the weather is slightly cooler and just perfect for biking.

Spring and autumn are warm with temperatures in the mid 20’s with lots of sunshine. September being the best month of the year, with August weather but empty beaches (everyone in Italy goes on holiday en masse).

Winter is fairly mild with temperatures around 12-15 celcius and in the sunshine it feels much warmer. Higher up in the Alps it gets cooler with snow at the high altitudes. This gives us the perfect opportunity to both ski/board and bike!

The mountains protect our valley from the cold North winds and we enjoy the warm winds that come over the coast from Africa.

The Maritime Alps of course has occasional thunderstorms like all high mountains but are no way near as fickle as the high Alps in France.

To your left are a couple of    climate charts that show the average temperatures and rainfall.  When we do get rain here its usually a month's worth in a day or two, so the chance of you enjoying fine weather is very good.
